Future Voters of America Clubs exist in nearly a dozen high schools! The mandate to expand our program with a high school club program came about from our 2004 Youth Congress. To this day, we are working with teachers and students eager to be leaders in their high school. Their leadership is the foundation for our clubs, which provide a space for diverse political discussion and the planning of events or campaigns that change their school for the better. Clubs are required to carry out a project, decided on at the beginning of each school year, which will improve the quality of life at their school. Previous projects include a recycling initiative at LaGuardia high school, in response to general student dissatisfaction with the existing recycling program. |
